The Rancho Bernardo Inn decked the hall where IFMA San Diego’s annual Holiday Social was held on December 14th. The wooden beams and chandeliers created the perfect backdrop for attendees, who enjoyed festive decorations, live acoustic guitar music, and a spectacular array of raffle prizes displayed along tables in the center of the airy room. Guests mingled, doled out raffle tickets, and sat down to a full turkey dinner complete with mini pecan pies and centerpieces overflowing with garland and candy canes.

The program included an address from Mara of San Diego Youth Services, IFMA San Diego’s charity of choice and beneficiary of the event’s raffle, who thanked the chapter for its support. SDYS reaches out to at risk youth in the community and has already helped 12,000 families this year. Raffle ticket sales at the event raised an additional $2,300 for the organization.

Between raffle drawings, the following honorary sponsors received recognition for their extraordinary contribution to IFMA San Diego: David Timber with the County of San Diego, Eric Baugh with BAE Systems, SDG&E, Amylin Pharmaceuticals, and BKM OfficeWorks.

Membership awards went to: David Timer, Professional Member of the Year; Lydia Reyes, Associate Member of the Year; and Shari Joyce, Volunteer of the Year.

The jubilant event brought chapter membership together for a light hearted celebration of 2011 and warm welcome to 2012. Happy Holidays and we’ll see you all next year!
