The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) has become a leader in eco-friendly correctional facility design. California’s state prison system boasts energy-efficient building construction, resource conservation and renewable power.

CDCR has incurred roughly $3 billion in construction costs and conducted nearly 100 different construction projects, all of which have been certified at Silver or higher Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) levels. Read More…
