This committee’s ultimate goal is to foster local talent to help backfill positions that will be vacated in the next 5-8 years by retiring facilities managers. This is accomplished by working with academic institutions to develop a local accredited FM degree program, and by working with existing programs (such as “ACE”) that reach out to high school and college students to make them aware of Facilities Management as a career of choice.
Welcomes new members with existing members at events.
Provides a professional communication medium for education and education opportunities, chapter programs, events and member information which supports and enhances the Board strategies. Maintains the chapter’s website. 2012 and 2018 Award Winning: IFMA Website of the Year
Get out and participate in making a difference for San Diego’s most vulnerable youth! No long-term commitment needed. It is satisfying to reach out beyond the boundaries of our buildings and do some hands on work for programs within our community.
Education & Professional Development
Provides regular and ongoing programs geared to the continuing professional development of its members through monthly meetings and quarterly seminars, and other educational opportunities through the International association. 2011 and 2017 Award Winning
Golf Invitational & Fundraiser
The Golf Committee is seeking high-quality volunteers to assist in executing one San Diego’s premier golf events, while supporting the Ronald McDonald House. Whether you’re a golf novice, an avid fan, a new volunteer, or have been a long standing volunteer for years, this is the committee for you. Our annual event provides volunteers with a wonderful opportunity to contribute, network and support two great causes in one.
The San Diego chapter of IFMA maintains a high percentage of members who are true leaders, representing a cross section of business and industry. They are dedicated, professionally and through their participation, to the mission of IFMA
The goal of our mentorship program is to create a community of members where knowledge and expertise can be easily shared with those seeking advice and guidance on particular or broad aspects of their professional careers. We connect mentors and mentees to share tips, career advice, and help share knowledge to get questions answered and develop careers.
Special Events Committee
The Social & Special Events committee is responsible for planning, promoting and executing of Chapter social gatherings including the Annual Holiday Social, Leverage Your Beverage events and other activities as directed. Members of these committees are fun, energetic and always looking for ways to provide an upbeat experience at all Chapter events.
In coordination with the E&PD and Special Event committees, obtains sponsorship funds, services and products for events, raffles, and other identified needs. Prepares the Sponsor and Member awards for the annual recognition banquet.
This committee assists the board with developing and recruiting committee leaders to guarantee the success of the chapter now and in the future. This committee also recommends new executive board candidates and organizes the annual election.
Venues and Menus
This committee handles event planning for the Chapter, coordinating with various committees to establish location, venue, menu, and setup for Chapter events, which include educational luncheons/seminars and other special events.
