Volunteer committees make possible the quality programs, events, networking and communications that bring value to your IFMA San Diego membership. Contribute your interest and skills by participating on a committee to make your IFMA experience more enriching and valuable.
Academic Outreach
The goal of the Academic Outreach committee is to foster local talent to help backfill positions that will be vacated in the next 5-8 years by retiring facilities managers. This is accomplished by working with academic institutions to develop a local accredited facility management degree program and with existing programs (such as “ACE”) that reach out to high school and college students to make them aware of the career opportunities in facility management.
Ambassadors
IFMA San Diego Ambassadors welcome new members and introduce them to existing members at chapter events.
Communications
The Communications committee provides a professional communication medium for education and educational opportunities, chapter programs, events and member information that supports and enhances the organization’s strategies. They also maintain the chapter’s website. 2012 and 2018 Award Winning: IFMA Website of the Year
Community Services
Join the IFMA Community Service Committee and help make a real difference through acts of kindness! Together, we’ll uplift our community, support local causes, and build connections—all while spreading joy and creating lasting impact. Be part of something meaningful with us!
Professional Development
This committee provides regular and ongoing programs geared toward the continuing professional development of members through monthly meetings and quarterly seminars as well as other educational opportunities through the international association. 2011 and 2017 Award Winning
Golf Invitational & Fundraiser
IFMA San Diego is seeking volunteers to assist in executing one San Diego’s premier golf events, while supporting the Ronald McDonald House. Whether you’re a golf novice, an avid fan, a new volunteer or have been a long-standing volunteer for years, this is the committee for you. Our annual event provides volunteers with a wonderful opportunity to contribute, network and support two great causes in one.
Government Affairs
Working through the Global Government Affairs Committee, IFMA seeks to connect the subject matter expertise of our members to inform legislation and highlight the role of effective facility management in achieving public policy goals such as energy efficiency, building health and safety and workforce development
Membership
Help us grow our membership! IFMA San Diego maintains a high percentage of members who are true leaders, representing a cross section of business and industry. They are dedicated, professionally and through their participation, to the mission of IFMA.
Social & Special Events Committee
The Social & Special Events committee is responsible for planning, promoting and executing the chapter’s social gatherings including the Annual Holiday Social, Leverage Your Beverage events and other activities as directed. Members of these committees are fun, energetic and always looking for ways to provide an upbeat experience at all chapter events.
Sponsorship
The sponsorship committee works in coordination with the Education & Professional Development and Special Event committees to obtain sponsorship funds, services and products for events, raffles and other identified needs. They also help prepare the Sponsor and Member awards for our annual recognition banquet.
Veterans Outreach
To raise awareness among veterans about the rewarding opportunities a facility management career can bring. Our goal is to support veterans transitioning to careers in facility management.
